With the shirts for the 2026/27 season, VfB Stuttgart is paying tribute to its home district of Bad Cannstatt. The home jersey, unveiled on 8 July, puts the spotlight on the rich mineral water springs. In the next part of the homage, the third shirt recalls the early history of Bad Cannstatt. It’s been produced in close cooperation with kit manufacturer JAKO and main sponsor LBBW – and takes fans and members far back in time.
Archaeological excavations throughout Baden-Württemberg have unearthed a wide variety of artifacts. This is also true of Bad Cannstatt: as can currently be seen near the Cannstatt spa park, a large number of artifacts from the Roman era in particular have been preserved. However, there is evidence that tribes commonly referred to as “Celts” were already settled in this region as early as the middle of the 1st millennium B.C. In Bad Cannstatt, during the first half of the 20th century, a significant hoard of gold was discovered in two ceremonial graves from this period, which is now on display at the Württemberg State Museum in the Old Castle in Stuttgart. This gold hoard inspired the design for the Cannstatt club’s 2026/2027 third kit.
History and tradition combined
The jersey features a striking combination of a gold base colour and a black Brustring, bringing the history of the area and the tradition of the Cannstatt club together in a high-quality design. The sleeve cuffs, also in black, are adorned with an abstract pattern reminiscent of the Cannstatt gold discovery. In addition, the all-over embossing on the fabric echoes the decorative elements of the craftsmanship of that era. The high-quality embroidered VfB crest – like on the home shirt – is intentionally larger and completes the look in gold and black. Continuing the journey through time, the collar features a depiction of the 19th-century Cannstatt jug.

Made largely from recycled materials
The matching goalkeeper adaptation of the third kit takes the black and gold elements in reverse. The result is a stylish companion both on and off the pitch.
All adult and children’s sizes are now available online as well as in the VfB fan shops at the stadium, in Stuttgart city centre and in the Breuningerland shopping centre in Ludwigsburg. The shirts have been produced to JAKO’s usual first-class standards and from mostly recycled materials.
