Following a lengthy injury lay-off, Nartey has fought his way back into the team this season – he’s made 37 appearances in all competitions, registering three goals and four assists. He also made his debut for the Danish national team in March 2026.
“As everyone knows, Nikolas Nartey’s time at VfB has been anything but easy because of injuries,” said Fabian Wohlgemuth, VfB board member for sport. “That makes us all the more pleased that he’s developed into a reliable and important factor in our team over the past months. Niko can provide important impetus to our play in different positions, which is why another contract extension made sense for us. We look forward to continuing to work with Niko.”
“I feel very happy at VfB,” explained Nartey. “A lot of things fit together here: I’m part of a great team and I’m coached by an excellent coaching staff, who care about the development of us as a team as well as every individual player. And I constantly experience the power and the support that the VfB fans give us. I am happy that the contract extension has come off and look forward to continuing the journey with our team.”
