Having already been named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season, Angelo Stiller is now one of 11 stars in the running for the Player of the Season award. The VfB midfielder has featured in all 32 of the team’s Bundesliga fixtures so far this term, registering two goals and six assists.
The 25-year-old’s inclusion in the Team of the Season is both an individual honour as well as recognition of VfB’s performances as a team. Now the Player of the Season vote, carried out by the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) and EA Sports, is open.
Polls open until Thursday evening
Voting opened on Monday 4 May 2026 and will run until 23:59 CEST on 7 May 2026. The other candidates are Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, Jonathan Tah, Dayot Upamecano (all Bayern Munich), Gregor Kobel, Nico Schlotterbeck (both Borussia Dortmund) and Luka Vušković (Hamburger SV).
The eventual winner is decided by an expert jury panel (30 per cent), the captains of the 18 Bundesliga clubs (30 per cent) and fans (40 per cent). The Player of the Season will be announced by the DFL and EA Sports shortly after the voting concludes.
