Milestone for Chris Führich

The midfielder made his 200th competitive appearance for VfB Stuttgart in the match against Leverkusen.

Chris Führich has been in fine form of late and showed no signs of easing off on Saturday afternoon as he helped VfB Stuttgart beat Bayer 04 Leverkusen 3-1 in what was his 200th competitive outing for the club.

The 28-year-old has impressed over the entire 2025/26 campaign, as underlined by his 14 direct goal contributions in the Bundesliga (seven scored, seven assists). He has only posted better numbers once (15 direct goal contributions), doing so in the 2023/24 season when VfB finished as runners-up in the league.

“I’m happy that I’m performing consistently well right now and that I’m regularly helping the team with goals, assists and other contributions,” said Führich. “For me, it even feels a bit better than when we were runners-up because my play has matured and I’ve taken steps forward.”

That has partly been down to him long since emerging from a period marked by inconsistent displays, and learning from it. “The keys to that were staying patient and to keep working hard,” he said.

“It’s a special milestone for me”

“It’s a special milestone for me and I’m very proud of it because I achieved it at such a big club like VfB,” continued Führich, who has worn the No.10 jersey since the start of this season. “I congratulated Atakan Karazor straight away when he made his 200th appearance a while ago. Now we’re both in the 200 club.”

Congratulations on reaching this landmark, Chris. Here’s to many more matches!
