The new VfB away shirt for the 2022/23 season has been released, inspired by the 1997/98 and 1998/99 campaigns in which the likes of Krassimir Balakov, Fredi Bobic and Frank Verlaat wore the hoop on their chest. Some of you will still remember the legendary 4-3 comeback win at Schalke on Matchday 30 of 1997/98, while others will think of Balakov’s 55 Bundesliga goals or Bobic’s 57 across the two seasons. These special memories are woven into the red and black design of the new away jersey.
Details and material
In addition to the distinctive collar, the horizontal red and black stripes from that classic away shirt have been incorporated. If you look closely, you will see the VfB crest incorporated into the pattern, which shines forth depending on the light. The matching shorts are in plain black, while the socks are in classic red and white.
As with the new home strip, VfB and kit supplier JAKO have not compromised on the material. The new away shirts are likewise produced in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way with 100 per cent recycled polyester.

The new 2022/2023 away jersey, which is also offered in a fitted women’s version, is available now in the VfB online shop.
