Hamadi Al Ghaddioui staying with VfB

The 30-year-old striker has extended his contract until 30 June 2022.

Hamadi Al Ghaddioui has signed a one-year extension to his contract, which was originally due to expire on 30 June 2021.

The forward joined VfB Stuttgart from Jahn Regensburg in summer 2019 and achieved promotion back to the Bundesliga in his first season in the white and red jersey. The 30-year-old netted eight goals in 28 games in the second division.

Sporting director Sven Mislintat: “Hamadi has just been through a long injury lay-off and is itching to finally play football again. He worked very hard on his rehab and that’s also why he deserves the contract extension. But obviously, footballing aspects also played a role in our considerations. We value Hamadi’s qualities as a player and are confident that he’ll put pressure on the players who featured heavily last season.”

Hamadi Al Ghaddioui: “I’m very pleased to have the trust of the VfB management. Our team have made great progress in the last two years. I feel happy in Stuttgart, I’m pumped up for the new season and am already looking forward to hopefully being able to play with the VfB fans behind us soon.”
