For organisational purposes, the friendly took place behind closed doors at VfB’s Robert-Schlienz-Stadion on early Friday afternoon. Walter’s charges put in a convincing performance, coasting to a comfortable 4-0 win against the second-placed team in the Swiss Super League.
VfB head coach Tim Walter:
“Apart from one goalscoring chance, we didn’t give anything away and defended resolutely. We were strong in the tackle and gave our all until the end, even though we’ve had a tough week of training. I’m also happy that three of our strikers - Silas [Wamangituka], Hamadi [Al Ghaddioui] and Mario [Gomez] - all scored. That was important and a positive sign. We scored four goals overall, so we can be very pleased.”
