Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “At the end of the day, Bayern deserved to win because they had more chances and we weren’t able to make the most of some decisive situations. Having said that, I’m satisfied with my team, their attitude and performance today – we tried everything we could. Bayern’s second goal was really frustrating for us. But we kept going until the very end and showed a lot of heart and passion.”
Angelo Stiller: “We had our chances to score and if you want to get something against Bayern then you have to do more with them. We threw everything at them and kept trying. Now we need to focus on our Bundesliga opener at Union Berlin.”
Deniz Undav: “It was a tight game with chances at both ends. We knew that this game would be decided by little details. We didn’t start as well as we’d hoped but we fought hard and went close, but Bayern just have so much quality. We would have loved to lift the Supercup but unfortunately today we have to accept that it wasn’t enough to win.”
