Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “We achieved what we set out to do and we’re pleased that we got the three points. On the whole we delivered a very sharp and mature display. We deserved to win by as many goals as we did in the end. The target until the winter break is now to be as successful as possible in the Bundesliga and approach both matches with determination.”
Maximilian Mittelstädt: “It’s important that we won. Thanks to a good team performance, we’ve managed to keep in touch with the teams at the top of the table. I said to Chris Führich before the game that we had to go all out on the left side, which succeeded. Saying that, we need to manage to stay wide awake for 90 minutes – and not just for one half. We could’ve shown even more drive going forward.”
Alexander Nübel: “We can go into our ‘European winter break’ happy, although we did drop off in the second half. We invited the opponents to an extent and left the game too open until just before full time. We’re glad about the win but we know we can still work on ourselves.”
