Sebastian Hoeneß: “I really liked the first part of the first half. We got our reward for putting them under pressure right from the start, but the game became more open after that. Köln are always tough to play against, and it was no different today. We lost the ball a lot, which prevented us from gaining any momentum. We didn’t have enough structure at the back when we conceded the equaliser. I can only congratulate my team for the way they fought back at the end, even if we could have made life easier on ourselves. We’re happy to have bounced back from last week with a win today.”
Ermedin Demirovic: “Köln played well. We were good in the first 25 minutes and forced them back into their own half. Games like this are important for team spirit as they show we can also defend and grind out wins. We had a good mix of long balls behind their defence and short passes in front of it. It’s hard to defend when you mix things up.”
Jeff Chabot: “That was tenser that it should have been. We didn’t start the second half very well and didn’t have enough energy in our game. My pass fell too short in the build-up to their equaliser. That doesn’t happen to me very often, so I’m all the happier that we ended up winning.”
