“We kept playing into dangerous areas”

Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß, Maximilian Mittelstädt and Nick Woltemade analyse the 3-1 victory at Heidenheim.

Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “The lads did well today. We wanted to keep playing the ball into dangerous areas and make the most of the space afforded to us. Nick [Woltemade] was our best player today, in my eyes. He sets up outstanding moves, holds the ball up, put his penalty away and was also involved in Maxi’s opener.”

Maximilian Mittelstädt: “We knew we’d need a great performance in Heidenheim today to get the win. My goal did the team and me a lot of good. It was important and beautifully set up by Nick. He had a good game, held the ball up and spread the ball around. He kept his composure for the penalty to put the seal on the win. He’s an important player for us. We delivered a good performance on the whole and it was an important win.”

Nick Woltemade: “We played well. We knew it’d be hard, intensive and full of challenges, but we deserved the win. We scored three goals again, got the win and had chances to score more. That sets us apart, and our strength on the bench is important too. It’s always nice to score and I’m pleased I was able to put the penalty away shortly before the end. It’s a great feeling.”
