Markus Weinzierl: "Congratulations to Leverkusen on the win. We played pretty well going forward in the first half, but conceded the penalty after we'd started the second half deeper and more passively. The way we defended was okay on the whole, but there wasn't enough going forward. When we get chances on the break, we have to finish them off better and generally be more clinical."
Ron-Robert Zieler: "The defeat is extremely frustrating, but the team is still alive and playing with passion. Our attitude is correct, but in our situation, only points count. Looking at the timing and table, the game in Augsburg next week is really important for us."
Andreas Beck: "It was a stop-start game. We were aware of Leverkusen's strengths and that they try to press very high. We set up to play on the counter and defended well for an hour. After the penalty, we had to play on the front foot more. In the last few minutes everything was very stop-start."
