Tayfun Korkut: "First of all I’d like to wish Lukas Rupp a speedy recovery. As expected, it was a very, very difficult game against a top team, who came here on the back of a good run. Hoffenheim invested a great deal and came at us with high tempo. We had a couple of very precarious situations to overcome, but we were never knocked off course, but instead stuck to the plan that had made us so strong in recent weeks. Things did become a little more difficult after the red card, but it was never really a major problem, because we defended exceptionally well with two defensive rows. A massive compliment to my team for what they invested in the last few games. The highlights today were Mario’s two home-goals, the fans were unbelievable and the team gave everything they had. We now have one game to go, which we must concentrate fully on."
Ron-Robert Zieler: "That was a very energetic performance today. We wanted to win our final home game in front of this crowd at all costs – and we did just that! The points are for the fans, but also for the whole team, as we really gave our all. We turned a little into a great deal today and defended extremely well – even with a man down. Three wins in succession – that’s a great feeling."
Daniel Ginczek: "Today we wanted to celebrate a further victory in what has been a successful latter half to the season. Even having been reduced to ten men, we struck with a second goal. We had some luck on our side in a number of situations, but I think that’s something we earned ourselves over the past few weeks. Mario confirmed his quality once again today. I am particularly happy for him, that he scored his first goals in the Arena this season."
