Indian partnership strengthened

Trip to India sees VfB coaches strengthen partnership with Sudeva Delhi FC and promote international exchange of knowledge.

From 12 to 28 March, coaches from the youth academy and the football school in the Indian capital of Delhi worked together with partner club Sudeva Delhi FC to expand their current cooperation. The focus was on training sessions with the U14 to U17 teams and bringing on local coaches, by way of tactical insights and exercises targeting how to improve technical skills, all in a practical, game-orientated way.

Off the pitch, the VfB coaches enjoyed plenty of new experiences themselves, most notably during a visit to the Sarvottam International School where they gave around 100 children their first ever structured football training. NDTV and Khelo were among the media who came along to report on the activities.

Special moments

Another highlight of the trip was the visit to the German Embassy in Delhi with ambassador Philipp Ackermann. Kids from the Sudeva Academy were involved in what was a relaxed get-together that featured a mini training session for demonstration purposes.

The exchanges made it clear how important projects like these are for social development and the incredible potential of football in India. VfB is keen to support and help steer these developments in the long term, for what they offer both in sporting and cultural terms.
