Two on a Friday, two on a Saturday

The Bundesliga scheduled the first four matchdays of the 2026/27 season on Wednesday morning, with VfB’s first home game against 1. FC Köln taking place on Friday 4 September.

VfB had known since the eve of the fixture list announcement on 2 July that they would be taking part in the Bundesliga’s opening match for the first time since the 2009/10 campaign. On Friday 28 August, the Cannstatt lads visit reigning Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich at 20:30 CEST.

The following three fixtures – leading up to the two-week international break from late September to early October – have now been scheduled too. VfB’s first home game of the season, against 1. FC Köln, will kick off at 20:30 CEST on Friday 4 September.

The following weekend, on Saturday 12 September, Sebastian Hoeneß’s side take on TSG Hoffenheim away from home at 15:30 CEST. They then welcome Borussia Dortmund to the MHP Arena on Saturday 19 September, kicking off at 18:30 CEST.
