Thirty-two teams remain in this season’s DFB Cup – and they now know when they will battle it out for a place in the last 16 after the German Football Association announced the dates and kick-off times of all second-round ties on Thursday. VfB Stuttgart’s match at Bundesliga rivals SC Paderborn will take place on Wednesday 28 October, kicking off at 18:00 CET.
Fabian Wohlgemuth, VfB’s board member for sport, said of the Cannstatt club’s second-round draw: “As is always the case in the cup, we would have preferred to play at home. It’s not that long ago that we faced SC Paderborn in the cup and only just managed to make it through to the next round. So we know we’ll have to be on our guard, but we’re heading to Paderborn with the clear aim of reaching the last 16.”
