Josha Vagnoman has signed a two-year contract extension at VfB Stuttgart. The 24-year-old, who has made 87 appearances for the club and whose previous deal was due to run until 2026, has agreed to extend his stay at VfB until 30 June 2028.
Fabian Wohlgemuth, board member for sport at VfB: “Josha has been on a special path with VfB over the past few years, a path that has taken us from the relegation play-offs to being Bundesliga runners-up and DFB Cup winners. In addition to his footballing qualities, the fact he can also play on the left wing - as well as his natural position on the right - makes him a valuable member of our squad. We’re pleased that we were able to reach an agreement with Josha on a contract extension and the continuation of our work together.”
Josha Vagnoman: “I feel very good here, both in the team and the club as a whole, and I’m proud of the path we’ve taken so far. At the same time, it’s a huge motivation for me to continue being successful with VfB and to keep developing as a player. That’s why I’m happy to have extended my contract. The way the fans push us is really special, so it’s all the more rewarding when we can give them something back through our performances.”
At VfB since 2022
The Hamburg native is now in his fourth season at VfB. He made 29 competitive appearances in his debut campaign in 2022/23 but later suffered an injury that restricted him to just 20 games in 2023/24. Last term, Vagnoman featured 35 times for Sebastian Hoeneß’s side.
He was in the VfB starting line-up for the team’s opening Bundesliga match against Union Berlin last Saturday, and has so far registered seven goals and nine assists in his 87 outings for the club.
