VfB have replaced Ermedin Demirovic with Nikolas Nartey in their UEFA Europa League squad. The 25-year-old is therefore eligible to face Fenerbahce in Turkey on Thursday 23 October (18:45 CEST).
When an outfield player suffers an injury, UEFA regulations allow the affected team to temporarily replace the player with another outfield player. VfB have taken advantage of that rule, but Demirovic will be able to return to Sebastian Hoeneß’s Europa League squad as soon as he has recovered his fitness.
