“We’re making the best of things, despite all the rain that we’ve had,” said Finn Jeltsch on Monday evening after the first session at training camp in Rottach-Egern. “I find training camps really important as they help a team to grow closer – at the end of the day, we spend a lot of time together on site from morning to evening.” Indeed, the lads from Cannstatt are together all the time, be it out on the training ground, during recuperation sessions, or quite simply chatting and eating back at the hotel.
Good atmosphere despite the rain
VfB arrived in Rottach-Egern on Monday afternoon as they step up preparations for the 2025/26 season. “The pitch is in decent condition thus far and seems to be coping well with the significant amounts of rain we’ve had,” said VfB board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth, who is at the camp to see exactly what the facilities are like as well as to speak to the coaching and backroom staff and the players. “The hotel is good, as are the logistics, and this lovely little corner of the country is providing us with all of the conditions that we need to carry out a successful training camp. As such, we want to use the time intensively to get in the best shape we possibly can.”
