Silas has left VfB Stuttgart to join Bundesliga rivals 1. FSV Mainz 05. The 27-year-old made a total of 132 competitive appearances for the Cannstatt club, registering 35 goals and 21 assists.
“Silas made an important contribution to the team’s immediate return to the top flight and VfB subsequently reestablishing themselves in the Bundesliga,” said Fabian Wohlgemuth, VfB board member for sport. “He’ll be fondly remembered for his exceptional footballing abilities and his positive outlook. We wish Silas all the best for the future and thank him for his time at VfB.”
