Another week of pre-season is in the books, with VfB completing their training camp on the Tegernsee lake and rounding it off with a 6-0 friendly win against French Ligue 1 side Toulouse. Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß’s team will be back home at club headquarters on the Mercedesstraße for this week’s training, with the next friendly coming on Saturday 9 August at 17:00 CEST, when VfB launch their season against Bologna at home in the MHP Arena.

… the 6-0 win in the Toulouse friendly: “I’m happy with it. We put in a very committed performance and kept our shape well. The heavy rain meant that we didn’t have the easiest of conditions, but the lads weren’t put off by that and played their own game. We took matters very seriously from first whistle to last and showed a certain amount of flair whenever we were on the attack.”
… the week-long training camp on the Tegernsee lake: “We worked really hard over the last few days and took a lot of content on board. We had to make the best of things with the constant heavy rain, but the lads gave a good account of themselves both on and off the pitch and worked in a focused way. I get the impression that we’ve built up a good team spirit. We’re on the right track and we’ll be looking to continue down that path this coming week.”
