Bayern Munich have earned 34 of 36 possible points so far in the Bundesliga this season, scoring the most goals and conceding the fewest. The runaway league leaders are VfB Stuttgart’s next opponents, and visit the MHP Arena on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 1530 CET).
Sold-out stadium
“We’re fit, we’re playing at home against Bayern Munich and will test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world, these are the best games,” said Sebastian Hoeneß at his press conference ahead of the game at the MHP Arena, which is sold-out at its 60,000 capacity.
Bayern’s record-breaking season
The teams have already faced each other in 2025/26, with Bayern winning the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup 2-1 prior to the start of the Bundesliga season. “The way Bayern play hasn’t fundamentally changed since then,” Hoeneß said. “We’ve looked at a couple of things we can learn from.
“I don't think Bayern are going through a difficult spell. Vincent Kompany’s doing an outstanding job. They’ve had an exceptional season so far, but we want to put them under pressure, play with bravery, and look for our chances.”
Chris Führich and Tiago Tomás available
In terms of personnel, Alexander Nübel will return between the posts and Bilal El Khannouss will start in attack, while Chris Führich and Tiago Tomas are both available for selection. However, Luca Jaquez, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Ermedin Demirovic, Yannik Keitel and Justin Diehl will all miss out through injury.
