Deniz Undav shortlisted for Player of the Month

No forward in Europe’s top five leagues was directly involved in more goals in November than Deniz Undav. The 29-year-old’s performances have now been recognised by the DFL with a nomination for the Player of the Month award.

With seven goals and two assists in six matches in all competitions, Deniz Undav played a key role in a successful November for VfB. He particularly proved his worth for the Cannstatt club in the Bundesliga, where he was responsible for six of the team’s eight goals over the last month.

Those outstanding numbers could now earn the striker a special honour. Along with Michael Olise (FC Bayern Munich), Wouter Burger (TSG Hoffenheim), Ibrahim Maza (Bayer Leverkusen), Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig) and Danilo Doekhi (Union Berlin), Undav is one of the six Bundesliga players shortlisted for the November Player of the Month.

This season, the Player of the Month votes are once again weighted as follows:

  • Fan votes: 40 percent
  • Club votes: 30 percent
  • Pundit votes: 30 percent
