VfB winger Chris Führich will wear the number 10 shirt for the first time in his career after the club confirmed the squad numbers for the upcoming 2025/26 season. In good news for VfB supporters, there will be no visual difference between the name and numbers on the back of the players’ jerseys and those on the shirts available in the fan shops.
“A special number for every attacking player”
“Ten is a special number for every attacking player,” said Führich, who joined the Cannstatt side in July 2021. “It means a lot to be able to wear this number at VfB from now on.” When the number 10 shirt became vacant following El Bilal’s return to Italian parent club Atalanta, Führich made it known behind the scenes that he wanted to inherit the jersey – and got his wish.
The 27-year-old will wear the new number for the first time this Saturday, when VfB take on SV Fellbach in the JAKO friendly match at 15:00 CEST. “I normally swap jerseys with an opposition player after this game,” he added. “This time, I’ll have to ask our kit man if I can have a second jersey so I can take one of them home with me!”
