There are three matches left in the Bundesliga – and for VfB, each one is huge. The first of those comes on Saturday 2 May 2026, when they travel to face TSG Hoffenheim. The two teams are level on 57 points, but the Cannstatt boys currently have a four-goal advantage in terms of goal difference, putting them fourth in the table. When the sides met earlier in the season, the match ended in a goalless draw.
“It’ll be a battle between two evenly balanced teams, and the little things will decide it”, said left-back Maximilian Mittelstädt. Temperatures were around 20 degrees Celsius when VfB began their preparations for Bundesliga Matchday 32, and the players certainly worked up a sweat. “We’ll be giving it everything we’ve got again on Saturday – it’s a crucial match against a rival in the table”, said the 29-year-old. “That’s why it’s good that we’ve got a full week of training to prepare for this task.”
