VfB Stuttgart have agreed to loan defender Leonidas Stergiou to fellow Bundesliga side 1. FC Heidenheim until the end of the 2025/26 season. The 23-year-old is under contract at VfB until 30 June 2028.

Six-time Switzerland international Stergiou joined VfB from Swiss Super League side FC St. Gallen in summer 2023, initially on loan before making the move permanent a year later. The 23-year-old has made 43 appearances for the Cannstatt club in all competitions, including 28 in the Bundesliga, four in the UEFA Champions League, six in the DFB Cup and five for VfB’s second team in the 3. Liga. He won the DFB Cup with Sebastian Hoeneß’s side in 2024/25.
