Fabian Bredlow is set to remain with VfB Stuttgart after agreeing a one-year contract extension with the club. The 30-year-old goalkeeper, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2026, has committed his future to the Cannstatt side until 30 June 2027.
Berlin native Bredlow joined VfB from 1. FC Nürnberg on 1 July 2019, making him the joint longest-serving player in the first-team squad alongside captain Atakan Karazor. The keeper has made 42 competitive appearances for the club, including 24 in the Bundesliga, 13 in the DFB Cup and one in the UEFA Champions League. He has kept ten clean sheets in that time.
Christian Gentner, VfB sporting director: “Fabian Bredlow joined VfB in 2019 and is now one of our longest-serving players. He’s an important figure for us on and off the pitch, and has played a big part in our positive sporting development in recent years. Fabi is an outstanding goalkeeper and has a strong affinity with VfB and the region, which is why we’re very happy he has signed an early contract extension.”
Fabian Bredlow: “For me, VfB is synonymous with home, passion and solidarity. I’ve been wearing the jersey with the hoop around the chest for six years now, and every moment on and off the pitch gets under my skin. As I begin my seventh season, I’m embarking on a new chapter – with the momentum of the DFB Cup win and a real hunger for more. Whether we’re playing in the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup or the Europa League, I’m ready for new experiences, for new emotions, for the team and for VfB.”
We’re looking forward to the future with you, Fabi!
