Three days after the draw for the second-round ties in the DFB Cup, the dates and kick-off times have now also been confirmed. VfB will travel to 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Wednesday 29 October, with an early evening kick-off of 18:00 CET.
Board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth said immediately after the draw: “An away match against a Bundesliga team is not exactly the kind of draw you hope for in the cup. The game in Mainz will be a big challenge, but we will of course go into it with the aim of reaching the round of 16.”
