Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “The third and fourth goals were hugely important. I’m very proud of the performance of my lads, playing here in Bremen so late on a Sunday is certainly not the easiest assignment. In the end we thoroughly deserved the win. I wanted us to keep a clean sheet here, so Alex’s save in the last minute is great for both him and us.”
Jamie Leweling: “We were on it from the first minute today. Bremen did have a lot of attempts and good chances early on, but we also came into it well. We put ourselves in a good position with the two quick goals and had a bit of additional luck with the red card for Bremen. In the end we saw the game out comfortably. I’m very happy with my three goal involvements.”
Deniz Undav: “We got three well-earned points today with a superb team performance. We were on it from the first to the last minute. I’m pleased with my goal. Today, we implemented the things we needed to do to correct where we came up short against Tel Aviv on Thursday. The only criticism is that we could’ve won by even more. Now, though, we can have a relaxed and positive attitude going into the last match of the year.”
