Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “We should have defended better for the first goal. It definitely wasn’t the start we wanted to have. The team worked their way back into the game after that, they showed passion and created chances. The decisive moment was the second goal. We gave the game away there. We should have defended those goals better as a group. After that, the match took a very unfortunate turn. We’re not heading home with a good feeling today.”
Chema: “This defeat is very, very frustrating. The result hurts. After going behind early on we came back well and created some chances. But in the second half we weren’t able to do what we intended to. Bayern controlled the rhythm as the match wore on. It’s very difficult to get something against them. We’ll have to learn from this defeat and look forwards. The fans supported us until the final whistle and we want to repay them for that – hopefully on Thursday at home to Maccabi Tel Aviv.”
