
Wooyeong Jeong is leaving VfB to join 1. FC Union Berlin, where he spent the 2024/25 season on loan. He made 23 Bundesliga appearances for the club last season, registering three goals and two assists as the capital side finished 13th in the table. His contract at VfB was due to run until 30 June 2026.

In addition to his footballing abilities, ‘Woo’ has always impressed us with his commitment and diligence in training. After spending last season on loan at Union Berlin, we’ve now reached an agreement with him and the Union management over a permanent transfer. We’d like to thank ‘Woo’ for his commitment in the VfB shirt and wish him all the best for the future.”
The South Korean attacking midfielder made 29 competitive appearances for VfB after joining SC Freiburg in summer 2023, scoring two goals and setting up another three.
