Stiller suffers ligament damage

The VfB midfielder is set for a spell on the sidelines, with his availability for the DFB Cup final on 24 May depending on how quickly the injury heals.

Scans on Monday morning revealed that midfielder Angelo Stiller suffered ankle ligament damage during VfB Stuttgart’s 4-0 Bundesliga victory over FC Augsburg on Sunday evening. The 24-year-old is now set for a spell on the sidelines but may return in time for the DFB Cup final on May 24, depending on how quickly the injury heals.

“We’re hopeful that Angelo will be able to play in the final, but we’ll have to wait and see how he recovers,” said VfB board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth.
