“It was a spectacle”

Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß, Anthony Rouault and Nick Woltemade with the reaction to VfB’s 4-0 win over Freiburg.

Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “We started the game brilliantly. Even before our first goal I had the feeling that we were on the money and strong in the tackles. Obviously it’s an advantage when you go 1-0 up in matches like that. We played some really good football over long spells. The players deserve a lot of praise for their willingness to defend against the ball. We’re on the right track and want to keep going.”

Anthony Rouault: “A 4-0 win is always good and something special, but I’m especially happy today because I’ve had to wait a long time to score my first VfB goal. It finally happened today. Angelo Stiller’s ball arrived perfectly. It’s fantastic, long may it continue.”

Nick Woltemade: “It was a spectacle. We were incredibly good, especially in the first half. After that we were solid and saw the result over the line. We produced a very good performance and left no doubt as to who wanted to win the game. Obviously I’m pleased with my goal and with the way things are going right now. We can be very happy as a team after winning all three games this week. We’re enjoying the moment and want to continue playing this way.”
