Josha Vagnoman was in high spirits and had a smile on his face when he took to the pitch at the Club Centre on Tuesday morning for an open-to-the-public training session to start the week’s Matchday 33 preparations.
“It makes it all the more enjoyable to play when the weather’s like this,” said the 24-year-old. “The training session was good, especially because there were so many fans there.”
Hamburg born and raised
That was not the only reason why Vagnoman was in such a good mood. The full-back recently made his long-awaited comeback from injury on Sunday afternoon in the 1-0 victory at St. Pauli.
“It makes it all the better to return with a win,” he said, stressing the particular importance of the game’s location. “I was born and raised in Hamburg. I went through all the youth categories at HSV, so it was a little derby win for me.”
Now Vagnoman and his VfB team-mates are gearing up for their next challenge when they host FC Augsburg in their final home game of the season on Sunday (kick-off 19:30 CEST).
“We’re hugely motivated,” he concluded. “We want to get the fans going and we’ll give everything we’ve got to keep the points in Stuttgart.”
