Departures from playing squad and coaching staff

Lilian Egloff, Florian Schock, Roberto Massimo, Genki Haraguchi, Mahmoud Dahoud and technical coach Nate Weiss are all leaving VfB Stuttgart.

The contracts of Lilian Egloff, Roberto Massimo, Florian Schock and Genki Haraguchi are expiring at the end of the season, while Mahmoud Dahoud’s loan is also coming to an end.

Home-grown Lilian Egloff moved to Cannstatt in summer 2012 and progressed through all of the various VfB youth teams. He made 29 appearances for the first team, registering one assist.

Florian Schock joined VfB from Stuttgarter Kickers in July 2016 as a youth player and made his way up from the U16s through to the U21s. In September 2021, he then moved up to the VfB Bundesliga squad. Schock was involved in 52 matches for the U21s in the Regionalliga Süd.

Roberto Massimo joined Stuttgart in 2018 and made 58 appearances for the VfB first team and 12 for the U21s.

Genki Haraguchi came to VfB from 1. FC Union Berlin in January 2023. The former Japanese international made 15 appearances for the club (890 minutes of playing time) and registered two assists.

Mahmoud Dahoud joined VfB on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion in February 2024. In 14 matches (227 minutes of playing time), the 28-year-old scored one goal.

VfB technical coach Nate Weiss will also be leaving VfB at the end of the season. The US native came to VfB from 1. FC Nürnberg in summer 2021 and first worked as a coach in the youth performance centre. From July 2022, the 36-year-old was then technical coach for the first-team squad.

We would like to thank Lilian Egloff, Florian Schock, Roberto Massimo, Genki Haraguchi, Mo Dahoud and Nate Weiss for their commitment to VfB, both on and off the pitch, and wish them all the best for the future!
