VfB are sending out a visible sign of their attachment to the region to mark the club’s 130th birthday. On Saturday evening, 9 September, the burial chapel on Württemberg hill will be illuminated in VfB red from 20:00 CEST. The MHPArena will also be illuminated for the first time this evening. The VfB badge will also shine on Stuttgart's town hall from late on Friday evening.
“VfB, Stuttgart and the whole of Württemberg belong together,” said VfB CEO Alexander Wehrle. “We are the club of this region and represent it as proud ambassadors. The burial chapel towers over Cannstatt, our home, and its inscription ‘Die Liebe höret nimmer auf’ (‘Love never ends’) is also symbolic of people’s connection to VfB. We are therefore very grateful that the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg have followed our idea and are making it possible to illuminate the burial chapel for the 130th birthday.”
