Sasa Kalajdzic departs VfB

The Austrian has signed for Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

VfB Stuttgart and English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement over the sale of striker Sasa Kalajdzic. The Austrian international joined VfB in 2019 from Admira Wacker and was under contract at the Cannstatt club until 30 June 2023.

During his time in Stuttgart, Kalajdzic made 51 Bundesliga appearances (22 goals, 11 assists), six Bundesliga 2 appearances (one goal, one assist) and three outings in the DFB Cup (one goal).

 VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat:

“Since his move to VfB, Sasa has become an established Bundesliga player and international, whose performances have attracted the attention of clubs at home and abroad. His progression is another impressive example of how VfB offers young players perfect conditions and development opportunities. We thank Sasa for his time at VfB and wish him all the best for his sporting and personal future.”

Sasa Kalajdzic:

“I will never forget my time at VfB. I’ve experienced a great deal, from the lows of my injuries to the highs of scoring 16 goals in my first Bundesliga season and the emotional survival on the final day [of last season]. I would like to thank my teammates, the management, the staff at the club and in particular the VfB fans. I’ve taken the city as well as the club to my heart. I’ll remain a fan of this wonderful club and wish VfB all the very best for this season and beyond.”
