Having joined VfB in summer 2017, Mangala made 109 appearances in all competitions, registering three goals and 10 assists. During his time in Stuttgart, Mangala also made his debut for the Belgian senior national team.

From a sporting point of view, we obviously would’ve liked Orel to stay here longer, but the financial aspect and the player’s desire for a change ultimately led us to agree to this move. Like Gregor Kobel and Nico Gonzalez last summer, Orel’s path is further proof that VfB is a very good place for the development of top players.
