The close connection to the city of Stuttgart, the region and indeed the whole of Württemberg plays an essential role in the design of the new 2022/23 VfB home shirt. If you look closely, you can see the silhouettes of 24 Stuttgart landmarks surrounding the red horizontal stripe – including the Wilhelma zoological gardens, the ‘Cannstatter Kanne’ from the Bad Cannstatt coat of arms, the Market Hall, the Collegiate Church and Solitude Palace. When putting on the shirt, that feeling of home is palpable – even if you follow VfB from afar.

Attention to detail in material

The deep connection to the city of Stuttgart was not the only thing incorporated into the kit, which was designed by manufacturer JAKO. The same attention to detail has been applied to the material – just like last season, all 2022/23 JAKO shirts are made from 100 per cent recycled polyester and in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

The new 2022/23 home and goalkeeping jerseys are available now in the VfB online store, where you can also get your hands on the fitted-cut women’s home shirt. Our new shirts are also available at the VfB Fan Centre and the fan shop in Breuningerland shopping centre in Ludwigsburg. They are priced at €84.99 (€64.99 for children’s sizes), although VfB members and season ticket holders can purchase the jerseys for €80.75 and €61.75 respectively.

“We’re VfB – we’re a diverse community, united in the ‘Brustring’ [horizontal stripe around the chest] and closely connected to the city of Stuttgart and the entire region,” said Alexander Wehrle, VfB CEO. “After two years of coronavirus restrictions, we’re allowed to and indeed want to get up close to the city again, to the fans and to the many people who carry VfB in their hearts and always support us – because that’s what a traditional club is all about. We emphasise this symbolically through the design of our new home shirt.”
