Laurin Ulrich has passed through all the VfB youth teams since joining the club’s academy as an 11-year-old in summer 2016. The midfielder has become a German youth international in that time, making 15 appearances for the U17s, and was also part of the VfB U17 side that reached the German championship final last season.
The 17-year-old has now committed his long-term future to the club. Ulrich is currently preparing for the upcoming campaign with the first team and will travel with the senior side to their training camp on Saturday.
Sporting director Sven Mislintat: “Laurin is one of our youth academy’s biggest prospects. His great potential has also been clear to see in the training sessions and friendlies with our first team so far. Laurin is a homegrown VfB player, so we’re pleased he’s decided to continue his promising journey from youth team player to professional at VfB despite numerous offers from other clubs.”
