Maxime Awoudja has joined Dutch outfit Excelsior Rotterdam from VfB. The former Germany U21 international arrived in Stuttgart in 2019 and spent last season on loan at Austrian club WSG Tirol.
VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat: “Maxime struggled with a number of injuries during his time at VfB, and as a result he was unable to make the breakthrough as hoped. Given the competition for places it would not have been easy for him to play regularly for us in the future, so the move to Rotterdam is a very sensible solution for everyone involved. We would like to thank Maxime for our time together and wish him all the best for the future.”
