Thomas Kastanaras signs long-term VfB deal

Thomas Kastanaras will be part of VfB’s first-team squad next season after signing a professional contract with the club through to 30 June 2025.

VfB have agreed a long-term contract extension with talented young striker Thomas Kastanaras. The 19-year-old, who has been a VfB youth team player since 2011, has scored 22 goals for the club’s U19 Bundesliga side this season. The Greek U19 international has also appeared for VfB’s U21s.

Sporting director Sven Mislintat: “With Thomas, we’re tying a true homegrown player to VfB for the long term. Thomas has persistently and consistently pursued his path in our youth system and performed well on a consistent basis. As of next season, he’ll be a permanent part of the professional squad.”

Thomas Kastanaras: “I’m very happy that my path at VfB is set to continue. I’ve been a player in Cannstatt since the U9s, Stuttgart is my hometown and VfB are the club of my heart. It was always a dream of mine to play here and make the step up to the professionals. The fact that this dream is now coming true is a great privilege for me and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
