Münst pens early extension

Nineteen-year-old midfielder signs pro deal to keep him at VfB through to summer 2025.

Stuttgart-born Leonhard Münst has been with VfB since 2013 and made 10 Regionalliga appearances last year for the club’s U21s, scoring one goal and setting up another six. VfB have moved to keep the youth product on the books well into the future, giving him a pro contract that will run until 30 June 2025.

VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat:

“We’ve been keeping a really close eye on Leo in the past few months, both in the U21 games and at the training sessions when he was involved with the first team,” said VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat. “We believe that his development is set to take off and that’s why we decided to get Leo tied to VfB long-term.”

Leo Münst:

“I would like to thank everyone in charge at VfB. It was already a childhood dream of mine to become a professional footballer and I’m all the more delighted that I’m getting to do it in my home town and with VfB,” said Münst. “I want to carry on developing step by step, as I’ve been doing in recent years, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
