Mo Sankoh signs long-term contract extension

The forward has penned a deal until 2026.

VfB Stuttgart have extended 18-year-old forward Mohamed Sankoh’s contract until 30 June 2026. Sankoh joined VfB’s youth team as a 16-year-old from Stoke City in August 2020 and soon made the step up to the first team via the U19s and U21s. After making his Bundesliga debut last term, the Dutchman scored his first goal for the club in the DFB Cup earlier this season. However, he suffered a serious knee injury in the closing stages of VfB’s opening league match against Greuther Fürth and has since been working his way back to fitness.

Sporting director Sven Mislintat:

“Mo Sankoh has all the qualities and attributes to make a permanent leap into the first team and develop into a top striker. There’s still a long way to go before he returns. Mo will receive our full support and all the time in the world.”

Mohamed Sankoh:

“I feel very happy at VfB Stuttgart, so I’m very pleased about the contract extension. After my injury, the VfB hierarchy, coaching staff, medical department and my team-mates have offered me great support. I’m very grateful for that. I’m working hard on my recovery and will give everything to come back stronger.”
