Home draw in DFB Cup

VfB discovered their second-round opponents in the DFB Cup on Sunday. Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side will take on Bundesliga rivals 1. FC Köln at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, with the second-round ties being played across Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 October. The exact schedule will follow.

“It’s nice to have another home match,” commented VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat. “1. FC Köln are definitely opponents that have to be taken very seriously. I expect a hard-fought, even contest and obviously hope that, with the support of our fans, we can reach the next round.”
