The winger came on as a substitute during the match, as did the assist provider Enzo Millot. “We wanted to inject some energy into the game,” added the 24-year-old.
The point may not have moved VfB any closer to safety, but they can take heart from the manner in which they earned it. “We’re taking the energy from the late equaliser with us, focussing fully on the next task and are going to give it our best shot there,” said Führich looking ahead to Matchday 33, when Stuttgart will be bidding to increase their points tally further – even though they face the toughest possible challenge in the Bundesliga.
