Awoudja has made five competitive appearances for VfB’s first and U23 teams since joining the club from FC Bayern Munich reserves in 2019. The 22-year-old centre-back tore his Achilles tendon at the end of last season, ruling him out for several months.
VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat: “After his long injury absence, this loan is a very important step for Maxime to gain match practice. He worked his way back from his Achilles tendon operation with great discipline and is now looking to rediscover his old performance levels through regular appearances, one step at a time.
