Fabian Bredlow contract extended

VfB Stuttgart have extended Fabian Bredlow’s contract, which was due to expire on 30 June 2022, by a further two years until 2024.

Fabian Bredlow moved to Stuttgart from 1. FC Nürnberg in summer 2019. The 25-year-old goalkeeper has made eight appearances for VfB in all competitions, having made his debut in the first round of the DFB Cup at Hansa Rostock on 12 August 2019.

The former Germany U20 international has had three further runouts in the cup: two last season and one during the current campaign. Bredlow was in goal for VfB as they booked their place in the last 16 with a 1-0 win at home to Freiburg.

The Berlin-born shot-stopper also played four games in Bundesliga 2 in the 2019/20 promotion season.

Sporting director Sven Mislintat:

“We’ve extended Fabian Bredlow’s contract early because we’re convinced by him in every respect. He’s an excellent goalkeeper, who would certainly be the clear No. 1 at a lot of other clubs. And no less importantly, Fabi exemplifies team spirit and thus makes an important contribution to the positive development of our team. We’re very happy that he’ll remain a part of our group in the future.”
