VfB summer schedule

The VfB first team will begin their pre-season training on 2 July, while friendlies and a training camp are also already set in stone.

Preparation for the 2021/22 season begins for the VfB players on 30 June and 1 July with performance tests, before the first training session on 2 July.

That will be followed by the first friendly on 6 July at the home of exclusive partner and kit supplier Jako in Hollenbach, where VfB will take on sixth-tier outfit FSV Hollenbach (kick-off 18:00 CEST). Further friendly matches are scheduled against Swiss top-flight club FC St Gallen on Saturday 10 July and against Bundesliga 2 side Darmstadt 98 on Thursday 15 July. Both matches will be played at 15:00 CEST at the Robert-Schlienz-Stadion.

On Saturday 17 July, the Stuttgart squad then head to Kitzbühel for a week-long training camp. VfB’s first competitive fixture will be in the opening round of the DFB Cup (6–9 August), the draw for which takes place on 4 July (18:30 CEST).

The 59th Bundesliga season then gets under way on the weekend of 13 to 15 August, with the fixture list being announced on Friday 25 June.

Info

Whether spectators will be allowed at friendlies or at the training camp, and if so how many, will depend on the latest COVID-19 infection rates.
