Erik Thommy on…
…starting preparations for the home game against Hertha:
“We started with a bit of snow on the pitch and a short, snappy training session. It was just the right way to kick off the week.”
…his comeback following a five-month absence through injury:
“I already made my first appearance in a long while in Freiburg. I was fired up for that as I’d had to wait a long time. In Leverkusen I got my chance at half-time and tried to make the most of it. I’ve been out a long time through injury and I’m back at 100 per cent now. I’m the type of person who wants to make an impact and show the coach that I’m desperate to play.”
…the match at home to Hertha on Saturday (15:30 CET):
“Hertha are a very different opponent with their new coach. They put in a good performance against Bayern and are a team with a lot of individual quality. We’ll prepare well and go into it with a clear game plan in order to pick up points again.”
